Trying to break in my first pair of Thursday boots. Great reviews and they seem to be spot on with the quality and build. Looking forward to getting out with these.
Junkard waxed roughouts Look rough but incredibly comfortable and really high quality with 270deg stormwelt
Fair to say I’m a shoe nerd, maybe even more than I’m a vintage watch nerd Am cycling through these atm Ethnic Spirit pictured above- a few pairs- zero drop made from veg tanned leather and upcycled retired Guatemalan women’s ceremonial clothing- Blake stitch but resoleable (one pair already done after walking over 3000km in them) Have now convinced them to make a version with a wider toe box… prototype incoming Junkard waxed rough out below Indo boot maker Remarkable quality welted boots for relatively low cost and incredibly comfortable Winson dress boot- pic at very bottom One of the best boot makers on earth Expensive but Indo made and therefore inexpensive relative to their remarkable quality - I bought these used Also have a pair of Loakes and one from Grenson- both good value picked up secondhand Coupl’a pairs of Vivos These are resoleable in spite of not being welted - contrary to popular opinion- I’ve had one pair resoled after 5000kms Awesome barefoot option Finally a couple of pairs from Santalum Difficult order process and mine were not made to specs nor in a timely fashion but they resolved the issue eventually Chromexcel olive structured toe with veldskoen welt and local leather tan boot with same welt- both zero drop Time to find one more boot maker to make me a couple of pairs- one in chromexcel and maybe one in Shell. Open to suggestions
An affliction, for sure......just glad it's not watches, THOSE people are KA-RAZY. That's just 2-300 of the several thousand...............in this particular area.
Breaking in my first pair of proper English boots. Crockett and Jones Bond Skyfall Islay boots in dark brown Scotch grain leather. Who knew fine English boots could supplant watches so easily?
As we lurch towards Autumn here in North-East Scotland, the trusty old Brasher shoes come back into service
Love Crocket & Jones, and nice pebble grain and color. Peal & Co. was a Brooks Brothers invention for boots usually made by Crocket & Jones Cordovan leather ready for our Fall/Winter
And a jazz record collector to boot! I'm in the same boat. A degenerate's affliction for sure... As with watch collecting, tough to turn away from once bitten
