So, I inherited this watch from my grandfather recently. I don't have any information on the watch, and i'm struggeling finding the model name.
It's a: Omega Seamaster.

I have been looking all over the internet for a watch like this, but i can not find one, which is looking exactly like this one.
If anybody of you guys know the model name, or average pricepoint, i'd love to know. Thankyou!
(I have no idea where he got the watch, or when). He was fairly wealthy, which makes me doubt this is a copy of some sort. If you have any idea what model we're looking at here, i'd love to know!
Thankyou for reading!😜

Welcome to the forum, you indeed have a rare seamaster on your hands....I think the price point on those is somewhere between 30-50K, depending on if it is made of platinum and has a spotless quartz movement. Will need some more seasoned eyes on it though.

Maybe it's just an ordinary Seamaster in stainless steel with gold capped upper surfaces.

To the OP, have a read of this.

You can ignore the first part about fakes, your watch is a very nice original Omega.

Thankyou very much guys!

To answer the other question these go for $500-$1000 (maybe a little less). You will need someone who has the proper tools and knows what they are doing to get the case back off to identify it. You don't want to scratch or mar the watch trying to open it up.

It is a nice watch that you can wear to remind you of your grandfather. It would be a good idea to get it cleaned and serviced by a good watchmaker. If you let us know where you are located, someone here can give you a recommendation.

No, the first quote was dripping with sarcasm, the second has the range about right.

Yes, sorry @andersmads I should have called out @GandOsDad . His post bothered me, but I chose to ignore it. Sorry it caused you confusion, it was not a good way to welcome a new member. Welcome, stay awhile. There are lots of super helpful and knowledgeable people here. 👍

We will forgive @GandOsDad because he has such an adorable baby 😀 and he will be more welcoming in the future. Right? 👍

What was the point of this?

Looks like a ref 14704 cal 591. Maybe worth about $500usd serviced; the case and dial look quite nice. 😗

Oh yeah, I know nothing about watches, so in my eyes it could as well have been 30-50k as 300-500 dollars.
I'm sure he ment no harm, still a pretty sad joke to fire off though. Still happy to be here, it's a cool forum. Thank you for responding 😀

Sometimes we make bad jokes. I'm one of them. Enjoy your watch!

Looks well-preserved, a very nice heirloom. As noted above, the reference number will probably be inside the case-back, and the serial number on the movement can be used to look up an approximate date of manufacture.
