Love me some Bremont

Wow nice! I'm not familiar with that Brand. Love the plane on the dial. Both sharp watches.

I know a lot of people think 2998 is hardly limited, but what the hell, it looks lovely even in the dark. 1975 is a bit more like it I suppose.

In 1989, I bought an Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11, 20th anniversary model with the fancy gold plated movement, and the crystal case back. It was sold to me by an AD as a "limited edition"! Turns out, it's not a limited edition. The same watch was offered at that time which was a limited edition of 2,000. These watches had the edge of the case on the 9:00 side engraved with xxx/2,000. Otherwise (AFAIK), same watch! So I guess mine is a "special" edition, and not a limited edition. I think the term "limited edition" is over-used!

Have you noticed that they have changed the hands on this model? They have dropped the silver needle hour and minute hand in favour of shorter black hands used on the c5 models. The center chrono hand has been changed to silver.

I had this watch and I loved it but I had to let it go because legibility was an issue.

I had noticed that change with the hands. The C9 (current version) now also has 22mm lugs vs. 20mm and height has been reduced (from memory) 12mm vs. 14mm. I love the watch, and don't have any issues with silver hands. If I had any complaint it would be that the minute counter needs longer hash marks at 5, 10 and maybe 15 minutes to aid in the functionality of that subdial. All that being said, it looks amazing on the wrist, and I can forgive any of its short comings given the compliments it elicites.

CK2998 is the only LE piece in my collection; my father has a blue dialed Breitling Transocean LE which is rather nice.

I do love the Soyuz

Pretty much my first five Speedmasters which are all LE but I later sold them to fund new purchases of all my current Pre-Moons 🤦
