My DSOTM is on an amazing run. I set it to the atomic clock two and a half weeks ago and it has only gained one second since, which is better than my quartz watches! Most of the time I've owned the DSOTM (2 years) it's been running at +1 sec/day, but it seems to have hit a really sweet spot recently. It won't last, but pretty remarkable as long as it does.
Based on position every 24 hours: (only track those I use)
- Dial Up: About 1 to 1.5 seconds, not timed it precisely.
- Crown Up: Pretty close to 0 from what I've noticed.
- Worn: Usually -0.5 to -1.0 seconds.
So my pattern is, if worn for several days (i.e. weekend) then I might leave it dial up during the work day to catch up. If it's where I want it (usually a bit fast to compensate for periods worn) then I leave it crown up to keep it neutral. Once I figured out the patterns I reverted to checking it against an atomic clock every 5-7 days or so. I always sleep with a watch on as well.
