A ghastly contraption fit only for pimps and actors and as previously mentioned I despise iced out bliggers.
Now as this thread is titled:
“What is your least trendy/popular watch opinion”
And given the response to my undudely quip…… it looks like I got a bullseye
I didn’t see you coming……….I sent for you!

Chronographs with screw down pushers are useless as chronograph.

Would you please time my run, dad?
Yes, shure, oh, wait, come back, I have unscrew pusher!

I'm still unable to understand the fascination with AP watches. Royal Oak does nothing for me.

Otherwise I have a strong preference for Chronographs watches. Hello Speedmaster professional. Can't get enough of all the different variants

I also typically hate iced out bling of all kinds. I'd actually say that is a popular opinion. It's all good dude.

Yeah you do need to plan ahead in order to use them, not always an option and often an inconvenience.
But screw downs do have some advantages, they prevent unintended activation of the pushers, which might be an advantage whist the watch is being used underwater. Thereby helping maintain the water resistance of the watch.
How often does this happen, well in my experience never, but that doesn’t mean it has never happened or will never happen.
And if I’ve got the opportunity to plan ahead, I’ll use a proper dedicated stopwatch.
Useless?…....not entirely.
Damned nuisance?……yes.
All things considered you’re probably better off without them.

It’s all good… don’t disagree with you fundamentally, but would still differentiate hype from icon… and rarity is what can push an icon into a “hype”. 👍

Meh.

I mean, the Patek calendar is great. And I do like the Aquanaut—but only the later one with the strap that hugs the case and the more refined dial.

I think the Patek Aquanaut sucks, and I also hate the Rolex GMT-Master II because its annoying to set, as well as the Explorer II for the same reason

The Aquanaut is the most over rated, over hyped watch IMHO. If it was €5K I'd get it ( a little bit ) but at €50K and up....🤨

5167 is what you’d want. Great watch.
5065 above is (still) first gen Aquanaut. It lacks the cohesion of a proper Patek. Feels almost like an unfinished prototype. Rushed. The entire line of early Aquanaut is second thought to Nautilus. — all of this makes it more exciting to own than current production. We can argue about hesalite and sapphire all day.

It all comes down to your personal taste, like ice cream flavors. Which btw, coffee ice-cream is disgusting!!! Cold sewer flavor, anyone?

Visually the aquanaut doesn’t do it for me, I’ve seen more attractive Invictas………..wouldn’t pay $50 for one ( unless of course to move it on at great profit) let alone what they charge for ‘em.
There are Pateks that I do find attractive but no so attractive as to pay anywhere near what they want for them. @ 6 too many zeros for anything I like.
And I agree on the coffee icecream, there is absolutely no need to put that shit in icecream.

I hate those overly expensive skeleton watches where the hands disappears into the rest of the watch, making them useless to actually do the one thing they are designed to do.

I find the Rolex Daytona unattractive. Have never understood why people want to pay upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars for the old ones, and $30k for a new one.

I thought that way until the the first time I actually saw a PN Daytona in the metal. And in the next case were a couple of pre-Daytonas! Be still my beating heart. I could have held them but did not dare -- too much temptation and too much heavy Security presence at the door 🙁

And my getaway car was stationary in the usual Berkeley Square traffic.

New ones? 🤮

Bvlgari = vulgarity haven’t seen one done in anything even vaguely like good taste, I particularly find those ones with the name in huge letters around the bezel hugely offensive to the eye just like that Marc Jacobs rubbish that does the same.

I don't give a fυck about holding value.
It's about your heartbeat while wearing, how many times do you gaze.
