Now that the hangovers of Christmas and New Year are receding into the distance it's time to set an agenda for the coming year watch wise.

What's your goal in watch purchases this year.
For me I have 2 objectives realistic or otherwise.

1: A Speedmaster for 100 bux or less ( I'll probably stretch to 200 😁 ) believe me I will find one!
2: An Illinois RR 60 Hour Bunn special.

Well that my short list, what's yours.

An Omega Centenary.

A 60 hour Bunn Special would be nice too. I would want the 23j type III.

Id like to get on indie brands.
Happy and satisfied with my big production stash. I don’t have the guts to get into vintage, so I won’t open that door this year. Got an itch for a white Patek 5711 I’d like to scratch. With prices going back to normal-ish, I could see 2023 a great year for collectors. FPJourne SA ghosted me entire 2022, let’s see if I get any love 2023. None of the recent releases got me excited. I might just be at a saturation point— If that’s the case, thank you Jesus.

Me?

Love a 39mm manual Speedmaster with baton hands that isn't financially excruciating, and is either up to snuff as a daily wearer or can be brought up to daily wearer status without deep financial drama.

This is my dream and thusly goal for 2023. I plan on leaning into OF and some specific OF members to assist in guiding me through this.

love my Trilogy speedy. You might as well find a mate for your Seamaster.

Sell it to your wife as “his and hers”.

Hopefully I can add a 165.024 big triangle Seamaster 300. Would love to finally add that watch to the stable.

I don't yet have a GMT in my collection. At various price points, I'd like to look at a Seiko 5; a Longines Spirit Zulu Time; or a Tudor Black Bay. We'll see if I can acquire any of them.

I've got a short list. Can't do them all due to budget limits, but will bide my time and see if I can find some deals in good condition:

1. Seiko 6105-8000
2. Sinn U1 DS (the one with the pre-scratched dial)
3. Omega Memomatic
4. Omega flightmaster
5. Finally pick up a Connie or fat lug seamaster in SS.
6. Possibly an Omega MK 40

Hopefully I can manage to not add any this year… 😁

I say we start a betting pool and see how many days you make it. 😀

This is exactly the kinda shit that's going to make '23 a long year.

As a former teenage male, albeit thousands of years ago, those are definitely no more than an A Cup bro.

I think I already screwed the pooch for 2023. I made my big purchases already. Now what do I do for the rest of the year? 🙁

And there we go again 😀.
This year :

1. Constellation de luxe (I remain open to models 😉)
2. A seamaster diver : don’t know if I will find a 300 in my budget though
3. A 30T2RG

well if a 145.022 comes my way at the right time, I guess I won’t resist…(still have in mind @gbesq one … which was on sale after 3 big purchases for me in the last 2 months 😀)

Edit : and possibly some nice chronos from the 40s/early 50s 😟
