What is your dream/grail watch?

I don't agree... if there is no watch out there that i desire more than one I can actually afford, then there is no "dream watch" left "out" there... i am glad to have mine in the box and i love it every time i put it on the wrist!

I understand your point here, the problem for me is that there is always a better/different/newer widget out there for me to obtain. I should be happy with the nice widgets under my ownership, but I am simply not wired that way. It's probably due to my be own oddity and perception,

But that's certainly a post for another day. I am going to enjoy wearing my planet ocean today...

The Speedy was always my grail. But this thing definitely would be up there...

Though there are a few other watches that would be bought before this one...

Heuer Skipperera. The Carrera case is the most elegant ever made and then that dial!

Here is someone fairly well known wearing one in 1969/70.

The grail is, a trip to a flea market or garage sale and I pick up one of these for a song...Yes the single red is more rare, therefore a grail opportunity for me.

I have had many watches, and many great ones, and my dad was a great buyer and seller of watches. I have had Jaquet Droz, Patek, Vacheron, GP, Rolex, IWC, Cartier, but now as an older guy, I hanker after an Omega Planet Ocean. My Dad loved Rolex and Breitling, he liked their swagger. Other than Omega PO, I also have a soft spot for Chopard MM's. Is there any love out there for a Chopard MM? PS I forgot that I also had a Tissot and Omega...

Like some others here, I think the concept kind of falls apart in the real world. I've had watches that I had previously called "grail", but once you have it for a while and wear it, its just another watch. As such, I think the unobtainable stuff more accurately captures the term.
Having said all that, here are two that come to mind:

Given the insane rarity, I know I'll never have the funds it would take to convince the owner to sell something like this, thus Grail.
