What is the point of this?

Hey all,

Obviously this screw can be removed to disconnect the bracelet here at that point.

I am wondering, why would anyone want to do that?

It allows similar bracelets to be attached to different end-links and fit different watches. Also, if the end-link is damaged somehow, or the bar at that weak point fails, it allows for the end-link or bar to be replaced and not the whole bracelet. I believe there are separate parts numbers for end links, clasps, and bracelet pieces for most Omega bracelets.

Ah I wondered that myself but never thought of being able to swap different bracelets.

Awesome that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing that.

i wonder if the bracelet from the mark 2 speedy will fit like that?

i saw online that the clasp has adjustability similar to a Rolex glidelock

Nice! I am interested in doing that.
I've done that and now my Speedmaster Moonwatch is the most comfortable watch on my wrist. It's worth investing on the adjustable clasp and endlinks for Speedy bracelet.

Nice!

Do you have a modern speedmaster? Sorry I am new to Omega and don't know the reference by heart yet.

So you switched out the end links and the clasp, but kept the rest of the original bracelet?

Yes I've a modern Speedmaster and I switched the endlinks that connected the clasp alongwith the clasp. Rest of the bracelet is same. It cost me under $200 to change both.
We've have few threads here for the detailed information.

Oh okay, I thought you had changed the end links that connect the bracelet to the watch case.

would you mind sharing the part numbers for these parts?

will an AD sell these to me?

If you don’t mind I would appreciate if you linked one of the threads that details the part numbers and procedure. I tried finding one of those threads yesterday using the search function and couldn’t find one 🙁

Thanks for the information and the link to the Thread!

In reading through the thread it looks like the pins and screw caps come with the end links 👍

Now I will contact my AD and see if they can find me this stuff 😁

It's just part of the bracelet upgrade to pins and screws. In previous models the link was attached to the end link via pin and collar, just link the removable links.
