I have a Spillman cased chronograph that I wanted to remove the pusher cap.

I removed the movement expecting to see a screw in pusher post, but I was instead disappointed and perplexed.

Instead of a screw post I found a post with no screw slot.

Can someone advise me how the pusher cap is removed on this type of pusher?

Could there be a little retaining ring?

They are friction fit and as far as I know pressed in with special tools.

Hm. Could it be that Pushers are fitted in one Piece.

Grab key, insert in ignition, start car, take watch to jeweller! I wish I knew! Be well!

Is the pusher threaded into the case, or a press fit? If the case is threaded tor recieve the pushers body, it's possible that the pusher screws were filed down after installation - sometimes required. If they are press fitted to the case, then likely they are not designed to be disassembled, and the whole unit is pressed in and out when replacement is needed.

I reassembled the watch when I realised I didn't know what I was doing.

It is a Universal Spillman case so I presume they are screw in pushers.

I wanted to replace the spring.

I will have another look in the next few days and closely inspect it.
