at the beginning --

1. Omega speedmaster professional was first designed, manufactured, sold to public and on the moon all happened at the same time in 1969, and that one and only unchanged version was in production for decades since then

2. Vintage watches are more valuable than contemporary of same product line ones no matter what, while refinished dials and polished cases are more desirable and has to pay additional premium for that kind of works

3. Patina, water damage, scratches, ding, dent are things that affect the value of the the watch in pretty much the same way

4. When a manufacturer said vintage inspired / reissued / reproduction / homage / replica, they are manufactured from same blueprints / machines / dies, so that you get the exact same piece as the original reference.

usual source of above information - online marketing articles, ebay seller's description, my own extrapolation

that's I all I remember at this moment, pretty sure there are more and will add in later

please feel free to add / comment / educate / correct / make fun out of it
