What do you think about this PO 2500?

I know it’s been a while but I think I’m finally ready to pull the trigger on this. Seller says it’s new. My only concern is that it would probably need a service immediately since it’s been sitting for over ten years. Does this sound about right. Also, should I insist that I be allowed to open the case back and verify the movement, or is there almost no doubt that it’s real?
Thanks all

Anything under $3000 is pretty decent for the 2500 if it's in great condition. $2500 is ideal.

Well then it will be mine soon😉

Hopefully next week
You can ask our friendly neighborhood watchmaker to double check the serial. Make sure the serial is on the underside of the lug. It’s out of focus in the shot. But the things I look at are all correct.

Already did my friend. What would we do without him

Bought mine new 11 years ago and it's still running strong, although not in daily use any more. It's not been serviced yet, when I spoke to the OB I think they advised every 8 years.

So if keeping good time I'd wear it and service when necessary.

Yea definitely try to get it around the 2500. If you ever decide to sell should be able to get that or lose just a little.

Another pic now that it’s sized correctly. I can’t stop taking my eyes off of it. I’m a bit upset that the jeweler I went to to get it sized gouged one of my links, but I can’t stay upset for long with this on...

Good to hear you are very impressed with it, they are great watches. After 6 months of waiting to make up your mind you could only be happy with it. Excellent choice of watch.

Great pickup, very impressed. I had one just like it when they first came out. What was the back story on why it was new and untouched after all this time?

Looks great on the OEM black rubber as well if you ever fancied a change.

Here’s the story. The person I bought it from won it from the car dealership he was working for as part of a sales challenge. He always thought is was too small for him, so it just collected dust in the closet. I guess he found it recently, and did some pricing research and put it up for sale. Funny thing is when I met with him to examine the watch. He was convinced that it was a quartz watch and said that I just need to put a new battery in it. Obviously I was really worried when he said this, but sure enough after a few winds and a small tap to the case it started right up.

Also, I have been scanning eBay for that rubber strap. It does look really good in the photos.

Congrats! It is a great purchase.

Just curious how it runs after sitting all these years in the closet?

I was too. I’ve been tracking it for the last few days. Not bad if you ask me.
