I don't think so, but once you do drop your pin you can't edit it.

You can if you keep your secret code that gets shown when you pin.

I lost mine.

Ha, I did the same. "Why bother?", I thought to myself. "I won't be moving anytime soon anyway."

And of course now I am. 馃う

California! Ideally the bay area but rent is so expensive I'm not sure if I can actually afford to live there. So I've got my sights set on San Jose for the moment.

I did this last summer. No matter where you live around here, it's gonna be real expensive. Fortunately I learned these lessons the hard way so you don't have to:
If you like a nightlife or any kind of social life, your only choices are SF or nearby, Oakland, or downtown San Jose. Everything else is suburban sprawl. It's probably fine if you have a family though
IMPORTANT Do not under any circumstances move to northern San Jose, Santa Clara or Milpitas, anywhere close to the southeast corner of the Bay. There's a sewage treatment plant there that lends a lovely shit smell especially on rainy days. A good rule of thumb is to make sure you live south of the 101.

Also hope you like mediocre traditional Chinese food (and above-average Mexican)... And, expect to spend a lot of time sitting in traffic!

Ooh, forgot a couple gems. Public transportation into San Francisco is fairly poor - trains stop running at around 11pm or so on weekend nights - so you'll want to live close by if you want to go out there at night etc. Driving into SF is what it is; you can park in a more residential area then take Uber or Lyft around. And the weather here is pretty nice, 50s and constant rain in the winters but 70s/80s and sunny from about mid-March to mid-October. Not humid at all, you can spend all day outside without sweating.

@abrod520 Thanks for all the tips! Saw you were in the area so I was planning on getting in touch with you at some point anyway. Lots of good stuff to keep in mind... I am definitely planning on living in one of the cities (probably Oakland or more likely downtown San Jose as SF rentals are just NUTS), Surbubia doesn't appeal to me. Also good to know about northern San Jose and I did not know that trains stopped running that early, really? Fortunately I have friends in the city.

Everything else I'm prepared for... I think. Traffic around here ain't pretty either but I'll bet it's worse than I can imagine.

Yeah, glad to pass on my hard-earned knowledge lol. If/when you make it out here we should grab a beer and do a mini GTG.

If you're considering either Oakland or San Jose, it sounds like you'll be working in SF? In that case, I'd probably go with Oakland as San Jose's quite far (1hr+ train ride) and Oakland is on the BART system which I believe runs a bit later at night, not to mention taking between 10-30 minutes to get to and from SF depending on where you're getting on and off. I haven't spent much time in Oakland but from what I've seen it's nice enough; I've actually got my eye on moving there over the summer as well since I'll be working in SF soon and don't look forward to commuting.

There are 3 more, that I'm aware of, that aren't on the map.

If they are active members consider reaching out to them with a kick in the pants. Will be tallying again soon...Texas could be (or could'a been) a contender.

DM me if you want to either have your pin moved, or better yet have your pin deleted ...so you can drop a new one, this time remembering your code.

Sorry the tool is like this, it's not ideal ...but the alternatives were worse by forcing a complicated registration or publishing personal info.

To all OFM's in transit, GLWTM.

I like to be creepy and stalk this map to memorize everyone's location. So TTT.

Ok I'm not really that creepy but still cool to look at.

I'd like to see this map, or an equivalent, showing the location of OF recommended independent service centers/watch makers that folks here have used. You know like STS or WatchGuy in the U.K.

I have no idea who to turn to in the Hamburg area for a reliable simple service of a vintage Omega and don't want the risk of a patina-killing full restoration at Omega.
