Likely nothing elaborate. Notwithstanding its grail status today, the Ranchero was among Omega’s least expensive offerings in 1958 and was marketed as an all rounder and an affordable alternative to the 1957 trilogy watches.

Good find. I have seen this same box loosely associated with the Ranchero and other late 1950s Seamasters. However, this is the first time there is something more tangible (kind of) in writing on the side of the box. Can't be 100% certain, but it makes sense as it was as @gbesq above says "Likely nothing elaborate." Well, I am happy, at least for the moment, to say mystery"kind of" solved. Anyone know what box the Ranchero was sold with? Any photos of one?
I suspect it would have been a flat coffin box style.
I have seen this online and the seller is stating it is for the Ranchero but it looks more early 1960s to me...

My 1958 2996 Ranchero came with an (allegedly-although it does look the right age given the wear & tear)
