What box was the Ranchero delivered with?

Anyone know what box the Ranchero was sold with? Any photos of one?
I suspect it would have been a flat coffin box style.

I have seen this online and the seller is stating it is for the Ranchero but it looks more early 1960s to me...

Likely nothing elaborate. Notwithstanding its grail status today, the Ranchero was among Omega’s least expensive offerings in 1958 and was marketed as an all rounder and an affordable alternative to the 1957 trilogy watches.

I was thinking that the seller was being somewhat as equally ambitious as his price.

Wasn't there a NOS example sold by the Davidoff Brothers some time back that came with the box?

Thanks for the tip. I have been through their archives and unfortunately can't find one.

Here you go:

Good find. I have seen this same box loosely associated with the Ranchero and other late 1950s Seamasters. However, this is the first time there is something more tangible (kind of) in writing on the side of the box. Can't be 100% certain, but it makes sense as it was as @gbesq above says "Likely nothing elaborate." Well, I am happy, at least for the moment, to say mystery"kind of" solved. If you don't mind, could you post here or message me a link to the listing?

As I recall, the Davidoffs were asking 20k for that watch - and probably got it. My lowly, not NOS example, no box, no papers, but I do have an extract! 😀

Well, the URL doesn’t seem to be any different from their homepage. All I did was click on ‘Our Archive’ from my search page:

scroll down to locate the watch:

My 1958 2996 Ranchero came with an (allegedly-although it does look the right age given the wear & tear)

Away from the watch atmo, but mine came in a red coffin box. I have papers but cannot verify that this is the actual box though, but general patina suggests it is around the same age as the watch

I care a lot more about the watch than the box. 😀

This one just arrived today. No box, but it’s a pretty nice watch. Looks to be completely original other than the bracelet (which I added today). Hard to find these, but they are such beautiful watches and the case 2990 is one of the best.
