Hi all,
Am in the process of changing the straps on my watches but got lost in translation among all the brands I knew and all the ones I tend to hear about here and there on social media…
Could you let me know what are your most trusted brands for straps and why?
For instance I ended up looking up Delugs and Seventhcreation and they might seem pretty similar to me… but in the end are any of them worth it??
Thanks for the help!

On my list I have so far:
- Jean Rousseau
- Camille Fournet
- Forstner
- Uncle
- Bulang & sons

Depends on where you’re located, I imagine?

I’m based in Europe and I’ve ordered from watchbandit, Fluco, Staib, Haveston, Bulang & Sons and others in the past. have also bought Rios, Hirsh and other straps through various vendors in the EU

Am based in Switzerland.
And what are your feedback on the ones you have ordered from and for what style?

I have one of Staib’s mid weight Milanese bracelets, which is straight up excellent.

Watchbandit and Haveston are both decent quality and affordable for canvas and nylon options, although I would avoid the latter’s efforts in leather (if it actually is leather, the thing I got seemed very ‘plasticky’). I’ve had leather straps from Fluco, Rios and Hirsh (several) which felt miles better than the Haveston one I tried.

Admittedly, the only real disappointment I’ve encountered was a Bulang strap. Got a leather one from them on sale (but still spent a LOT more than on most other straps I’ve bought) and the thing looked ragged and shabby after two weeks. Definitely didn’t feel like value for money.

One has also to be careful not to buy from some of those websites knowing some of them are just outsourcing to Jean Rousseau etc…

Depends if they are a reseller or advertise their own straps being just rebranded ones from a know manufacturer… I tend to cut middle men with no added value…

I have ordered from Fluco a few times - the straps have a good quality for the price, Nomos has the straps manufactured by Fluco.

Kaufmann (https://www.kaufmann.shop/) offers a little more choice in terms of leathers and colors.
The quality is very good and custom orders are no problem. Some of the straps from B&S are made by Kaufmann.

A few examples:

I mostly wear my watches on bracelet but for strap I bought mine from a local strapmaker in Vietnam, superb quality at a decent price (I guess?), $25 for this one.
His name is Linh Ba Le.

Lots of good straps out of Vietnam. There are very few I’d pay more for.

Depends if you're after full custom or pre-fabbed.

From VN, I've had very well made straps from TJC, 7straps, and TL watchstrapvn. Excellent pricing with very good work.

Big fan of Vietnam straps as well. I bought from Tuns Leather and TJC Workshop (both Etsy sellers). Excellent quality straps.

I’ll cast a vote for Vinacreations. They are on eBay, Amazon, Etsy and Instagram. They also have their own website:

https://vinacreations.com/

They have a U.S. office that handles imports, so no CITES issues. Very quick shipping for in-stock items. Custom made is available.

The quality is not at the level as the European shoos mentioned above, but neither is the price.

Artisan. Not inexpensive, but the highest quality straps that I’ve seen from any manufacturer, many choices of materials and colors, and they also do custom work. I also like that all of their straps come with quick release spring bars so no scratched up lugs.
