Right this minute, WTA action from the Indian Wells event…but aside from that…

Reacher
The Pitt
Paradise
Shoresy

Rewatching Banshee

Watching the Sopranos for the first time. I’d seen bits and pieces before but didn’t watch it on the first run…
How are you finding the Sopranos? Does it still impress like it did back in the 90s/early 2000s , or does it seem dull compared to modern stuff?
I remember talking about the episodes at work, back in the days before streaming when you had to wait a full week before each new episode. There were some wow moments to discuss. So many great characters too, such depth to the acting, all the way through the cast. And that ending...

It’s good. Not finding it slow really. I’m aware of the ending so not a big deal there…just getting to the end of season 3.

Watching the first 2 seasons of The Wheel of Time, up to S02E05 as of 2 am this morning.

Apparently season 3 is being released so I thought I would see what the hype is about and I must say it's a relatively immersive series especially when you Binge watch it.

So got to the episode where Christopher is faced with an intervention over his drug use. In the scene with the family there Tony says something and Chris angrily shouts back to Tony with something like "they way you eat you'll be dead with a heart attack before you are fifty!"

I think I physically cringed at that point...yikes...🙁

Yes, James Gandolfini was taken too soon. I believe he was only 51 or so.

Not related to Tony, but one of my favourite episodes is the Pine Barrens. Have you got that far yet?

Super, super excited. OMSI has a screening of John Carpenter's The Thing tonight. Really looking forward to seeing it on a big screen.

Watched a short (40 min) Netflix video called "The Seat", which documents Kimi Antonelli's rise to take Hamilton's seat at Mercedes. Worth a view.

If you haven't seen it, The Bondsman with Kevin Bacon was pretty good.

The big tall dude that arrest Kevin Bacon in the last episode is a good buddy of mine, he's working on Tulsa King right now, we keep asking him when he's getting his "big break" because he really is a natural, he jokeningly tells us he won't know us then. lol

Started rewatching the made for TV " The Strain" series about a week ago, just finished season 1 and am now on to season 2.

I really enjoyed it first time round and am equally enjoying it 2nd time round.
I am amazed at how much of it I retained in my memory which is a great compliment to the genius of Guillermo del Toro, I've loved everything he has produced from his kids animated series to this and more. Absolute writing and conceptual genius.

I keep forgetting Corey had hair in this...he's pretty much bald in everything ese I've seen him in. Yes, this was a great series overall.

Just watched the 2024 film Dragonkeeper an extremely poor adaptation of Carole Wilkinsons Book and series.

Having read all of the Dragonkeepers series of books I cannot help but be dissapointed by the Disneyfication of a great story to the point where all the themes characters and story lines are mish mashed into into a disjointed load of Hogwash.
I suggest reading the books and give the film a wide berth, I cannot help but feel for the author who has had her original and good work butchered in this fashion.

Perhaps part of the blame for this might be due to the publishers (Books) marketing of the works as Children's literature however the absence of adult themes does not in of itself mean that something is meant only for children but perhaps is just family friendly.

Originally I got the books with the intention of reading them to my 7 year old daughter but was so impressed with them that I read them for myself as my daughter was not interested in book of this level of advanced storylines and themes.

Pocket Money with Paul Newman, Lee Marvin and Strother Martin. Never heard of it which makes me think it's not going to be great, but I'm moving it to the movie room because first 10 minutes looks pretty good. Strother Martin looks like he's about to swindle Paul Newman.
