Pinnekjøtt, Smoked and salted lamb with mashed kohlrabi, should be served with potatoes too, but I "forgot" to make them, because I know I am going to eat much too much anyways, no need for a filler. Beer and aquavit on the side. This is a classic christmas dish now served in the middle of summer.

It was a hard time, when Covid19 led all restaurants get closed.
Here is, what I got to take away and eat somewhere in the open:

Home made lentil soup and fresh bread. I had all four wisdom teeth removed yesterday and some root canal work done on Monday.
Soft food until the swelling goes down and another trip to the dentist next week For some more root canal work.
The soup was fantastic though, silver linings and all that.

Rough. I had two removed as a Navy recruit, the other two at my first command, and recently a top left molar. All of them went well as I followed the after care program. Hope you start feeling better.

Thanks, it has not been to bad to be honest, the most painful part is the hit on my wallet. Still, I am fortunate enough to have the means to pay for it, so, I am thankful for that.

From last night. Brisket tacos.
Hit it with a dry rub over night and then smoked at 225 for around 6 hours (it was only 2lbs).
Also grilled the corn and the wife whipped up the sauce. Not sure what it was, but it was good. Spicy.

A south eastern Norwegian summer classic, fried mackerel with new potatoes, cucumber salad and sour cream sauce. Simple, but delicious.

Look at me. Two in a row. Little filets and salad. Blue cheese (and medium well) for the significant other.

Snap pea salad...sliced up snap peas and green onions...

Combined with edimame, and then a dressing made with fresh grated ginger, toasted sesame seeds, chili crisp, salt, lemon juice, agave syrup, and warmed up sesame oil. Very tasty...

On another night some braised leeks in miso sauce...wash and cut leeks in 1 inch long pieces, brown each end on oil:

Make the sauce - miso paste, water, agave syrup, lime jiuce, minced garlic...

Add sauce to the pan and cook while reducing the sauce:

Very good:

Corre Larkin has been making some amazing leek dishes lately; she’s at @cocolarkincooks on IG and TT. I’ve made quite a few of her other recipes and they’re all winners.
