Dinner at friends place last night with a number of other couples. We all picked a recipe out of the LCBO's Food and Drink spring 2017 magazine (LCBO is our provincially run alcohol distributor - the largest single purchaser of beverage alcohol in the world apparently), and made it to bring to dinner, along with the alcohol pairing that went with the recipe.
Is that Kriek I see? I miss my brief time in Belgium. I could go for a nice Westmalle trappist about now.
It is indeed. I'm sure it's found in more places around Europe but I have only seen it on the menus in Belgium and once in Budapest. If it's available I'm drinking it.
