I know the chronos are the ones to have but I couldn't let these go by at the price they were bringing in an auction today. I was hoping there was someone here familiar with them enough to tell me the base movement so I might source parts for the non-functioning one. any help would be appreciated!!!1702186638281blob.png

Another member has a Jardur which has an AS 1187-1194 movement in it. Chances are yours are the same. We’d know better if you’d show the mechanism (movement) inside the case of the one you need parts for.

I will do when they arrive. I was hoping to get a jump on things. Thanks, as usual!!!

Could you give us more details about the watches you got? Maybe we can find some information about the base movement for you.

I love AS 1187/94 movements. Really easy to work on. Quite underated. Parts are easy to source at the moment.

I got busy and missed your post! Thank you!!!! I got them this afternoon and opened them up for photos. The non runner wants to as it runs a few seconds when moved. The running one has been keeping time for going on 3 hours so fingers crossed. I would love to just switch stem and crown to see how the brown one strap works but don't know which screw holds it in. I can look for videos now though. The "retaining ring seems loose is there a trick or will the stem help hold it in place? The dial on the brown strap is in unbelievably nice shape with the exception of a "shadow" where the minute hand was stopped. Here are the shots...

Not an AS 1187/94 those have a tall bridge. Could be a different AS caliber. Ranfft is still down so it is hard to search by parametrics.

I got my watches last week and they seem to be AS 1748/49. The other is 1686 which is like the 1187 and a later implementation.

These types of watches are easy to learn on and clean. Not sure how economical they would be for those who are not already setup for basic service. The basic tool setup to learn on watches would cost a few hundred dollars. Hard part is finding in person help to learn the basics.

Here is the movement on my Jardur. IMG_7583.jpeg

Described by @Canuck as looking like an AS1187/1194 movement.I am quite certain he was referring to me above.

Looks like that might be the one. Not sure why the new Ranfft.org has all these marked for deletion.

Usually if a watch ticks for a few seconds all the parts are there. Cleaning is all that is needed. Running a watch dry can wear the pivots and jewels, so until they are inspected it would be hard to say what the issues are. The 1686 I got last week also runs for a few seconds. Have not had a chance to take it apart as there are parts from more than a dozen landeron chronographs still all over the bench.

Can you direct me to a source for stems and crowns for the 1220? Also a suggestion for an appropriate screwdriver size/source for the little hold down screw for the stem would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,

I like to use Paylak for stems and springs. They are pretty good and sometimes have stuff that is not online if you know the specifics of it.
They also sell tools. You can order only the one you need. It is fairly easy to measure the screw with some cheap digital calibers sold by Harbor freight. Do not be tempted by the cheap knockoff watch repair toolkits. Get the good stuff.

She's pointing out what are clearly fake Bergeon screwdriver sets. If it's priced at $100 or less, it's fake. That pretty much covers all Bergeon tools.
