What are some under appreciated and under valued Omega model in your country?

Some of the classic models like 2531.80 and 1st Generation PO are very underappreciated in Korea.

Can you give any reason why they are not highly valued in your country. Could it be the big size or do they look too flashy. Any ideas.

The 2531.80 was underappreciated until recently.

This Fratello article from 2018 says "Expect to pay around €1800 for this watch in good to mint condition, perhaps even a bit more." That's approx $2k USD.

eBay recent sales history shows a going rate $2k - $3k and up, so some of these sell 50% over 2018 estimate above.

I was looking at picking up one of these a few months ago, right as I started seeing people pump the model in forums. I think it's a great watch at $2k - $2.5k, but at $3k+ imo no longer a bargain, and I wouldn't say underappreciated.

I think the quartz models of this generation of Seamasters are underrated, but I'm not trying to trigger anyone 😁.

I own two so I've put my money where my mouth is!

The 2531.80 is hands down my favorite Seamaster, quartz version included. It's the defining Professional 300M, and in my opinion, all three models behind it are nicely updated and well executed reflections of the 2531.80, so it lives on. Go Omega. I hope that continues, because it's a classic and an icon. For me, the same goes with first gen POs. In that case, I don't actually like any of the POs beyond the first gen 2500s with aluminum bezels. Anyway, if they're underappreciated where I live, I wouldn't know about it. I love mine and that's all I care about. 👍

If you are on the selling side they are all under appreciated in my country, but if you are on the buying side, the reverse 😀

I think people are more interested in flashy ceramic bezel here. I know it is the same with most countries but in my opinion people wear watches in Korea to impress others.

I think its the same for most watch enthusiasts in my country, I reside in Singapore haha. Back to topic, I think vintage connies are under appreciated here

I heard the quartz version is little thinner as well. That would make it more comfortable with an already confortable watch😉
How long does the battery last for??

Yes i used to collect only vintage pieces from Omega and recently i've picked up 2531.80 and man i was in for a suprise. Now i've gone down the rabbit hole and bought 2254, 1st gen PO and Chrono👍. They are fantastic watches for sure!

Just FYI, the cal. 1538 based quartz models (e.g. 2541.80) are the same thickness as the cal. 1120 auto models (e.g. 2531.80) at ~12 mm. They are indistinguishable, aside from the dial print and operating systems. 👍

40plus months if the movement is working correctly. But I've owned them for much less than that, and have not yet had the End of Life indicator kick in.
