Looks like he has also never handled a semi-auto pistol before... certainly playing it safe in that shot if the slide if locked back. Then again Sean Connery ran about with an airgun....
That Walther is an airgun, really cool to see one here as I have one at home. Me and my brother shot at all sort of things as small kids.

IIRC the airgun was supplied by the photographer.
Another poster shows either Bond or a Bond girl with a Daisy BB gun.
I remember a photo spread for a metal band in which a cross bow pistol with the prod removed was used to represent a handgun.

No one seems to have mentioned that he was Australian! 馃榿

Come to think on it I never heard of Australians bragging about it.

Here's a link to the first ever appearance of James Bond on screen.

Barry Nelson as Bond with Peter Lorre as the villain.

The UK is very safety conscious... talking metal an Album by Hawkwind featured a British BS 1363 mains connection wired in a dangerous way. Shortly after the album's release, the illustration was replaced by a sticker obscuring the image.... they should have stuck with a crossbow or air gun but bands will do anything to 'plug' a record :0)

I liked Lazenby. Never understood why he was in only one (until the documentary). I grew up on Moore but even I knew he was long in the tooth for a bunch of them. Dalton over Brosnan! I鈥檇 love to drive Dalton鈥檚 Aston! Wow! I鈥檝e enjoyed Craig in the reboots. But I agree it鈥檚 a departure from the novels. Not in a bad way imo.
