What are Omega's next Limited Editions now that Apollo 13 50th is gone?

There are now!

They could sell 2,021 ST3 watches in ten seconds.

They must be thinking about it. Too tempting.

Me, that Apollo-soyuz 50th has got me dreaming. How do they outdo a Meteorite dial? Gotta be something really special.

The ISS editions are really interesting too. That hadn't occurred to me. It would have to be an X-33 ISS limited edition. That would be a great rumor.

And my comment 😉
Can't wait for the 3rd Speedy Tuesday X-33 👍

An x-33 ST3...now that you point it out, it makes sense. They do like the X-33 and so do the Space-X crew.

That is some outside the box thinking. Not sure if the community is ready for a X-33 ST3, or even if Omega is ready to collaborate on one. Maybe, the x-33 has jumped in price the last 6 months, although not sure if that's due to speculators or afficiandos. It makes sense to have a x-33 ST3, although it would still be very surprising. Maybe that's exactly what Fratello is looking for, something surprising.

Also wonder if the ST3 would have gold. RJ loves his moonshine. Maybe to mix it up they'd use white gold. But even though they might like to, I suspect they won't because that would make it too expensive. Then again, it's the third of the trilogy so maybe a big finale with gold? Not blingy though, which is why the white gold.

What you and @Pun say about the ST3 coming makes sense. Speculating, the production delays due to covid and hacking, as well as the new Snoopy3 and new moonwatch, make it unlikely that the ST3 would be coming out soon. Seems like there's time to save up.

Pretty interesting. Not anything I had considered. If they make a X-33 ST3, @STANDY gets bragging rights for calling it.

😜 😁

I really wonder if there was someone vaguely fluent in English in the marketing department that day when they decided it would be a good name.

Called the moon boot on the 50th caseback over 12 months (June 15th 2018) before hand 😉

Still don't know how you did that. Pretty impressive magic.

"I do believe in spooks, I do, I do, I do!"

blue and white would be fantastic. the Earth rising image is one of the strongest images that came from Apollo. I'd love to see that incorporated into a watch at some point. It would be almost as good as an Omega Snoopy doghouse shaped box.

Closest I came to a prediction was this back in September when I said what I would like to see on the Snoopy3 back. Not like calling it but don't think I will ever get closer.

Apollo 15 50th Anniversary should be the next one, before the Apollo 17 50th Anniversary will come.

I can see Omega releasing an Apollo 17 50th Anniversary "Last Man on the Moon" (for now) watch in 2022.

IMHO as a spaceflight aficionado the 1976 Apollo-Soyuz Speedmaster was the best looking Speedmaster ever !
First mission patch Speedmaster ... with mission logo at 12 o'clock position
The word "Speedmaster" isn't even mentioned on the dial
Classic black dial with long hour indices
10% bigger pushers giving a better overall look & feel
It was a real Limited Edition as nowadays almost none are to be found...
But for 50 years ASTP it should be a non-limited steel 321 Speedmaster with ASTP - Apollo Soyuz Test Project mission logo in the same place...
The logo could easily be reversed so we'll get a Soyuz-Apollo Speedmaster ... there's a Russian market for Speedmaster chronographs !
Preferably the watch should come in a smaller box and the buyers should get an interesting historic photos, facts & figures book ... similar to the Moonwatch book all the mid-late 1990s Speedmasters came with!

In summary a time piece that brought time peace ...

We have:
Apollo 8
Apollo 11
Silver Snoopy Award / Apollo 13

Pure speculation but feel it will be Apollo 17 only.

How long can Omega continue these anniversary pieces every 5 years? The 50th anniversaries are a huge milestone but beyond... I'm not so sure when a return to the moon is firmly back on the agenda.

I suspect Omega wants to continue its future involvement in the space program with NASA, Space X etc. perhaps this could be reason enough for the changes to the text on the leaked draft 3861 hesalite case backs?

Poor Apollo 12, 14, 15, and 16 get no respect.

That was true even in real time. The world was transfixed leading up to the first moon landing in 1969. But Apollo 12 didn't meet with a lot of enthusiasm (been there, done that). Apollo 13's crisis refocused the world on space travel, but there was little excitement over Apollo 14, 15, 16 and 17. It was hardly covered in the press and tv of the day. People had moved on with their lives and bigger stories were in the news, like Watergate, the US rapprochement with China, and the ongoing Vietnam War. The space race was won.
