I think if you can get a complete set watch then it is worth it to get it. The watch was limited to 1948 pieces. It was based on the first gen PO architecture so it is 42 mm and only 14.2 mm thick. After that the PO's got thicker. The 2500 movement is completely capable and reliable. There where some issues as Omega began using the coaxial movement years back, but if you need to get the watch serviced, Omega will put any updates that were put in place and the watch run within COSC specs all day long. I think the first gen PO is the correct proportions and this LE version is definitely one to keep. Glad you got one.

The release of the PO LE LM, was an incredible moment in divers history, a REAL definitive SUB killer was born...and Omega let it die!!!.

That they definitely did!
How these wear compared to the new ones is night and day. Unless you’ve seen or worn it in the metal you won’t understand by looking at pictures or dimensions.
But on the flip side it makes these all the more special. For 1,948 pieces they were as close to perfection as ever and it may never return.

another photo just because 😉

yes, I own the 42mm 8500 and I think I will sell it, the thickness is..is...an really bad thing (almost 16mm!). I by the Neston (SM300 diver), 13.6mm thick and much more comfortable and balanced to the eye..

Hi long time lurker but first post here, need some advice before I pull the trigger. I have a collection of vintage speedmasters and seamasters, last acquired a modern speedmaster a year back, and now looking at a modern seamaster to complete the set.

The current Ti PO's look great, and seems to be the real mccoy inside. However I still seem to have the hump for the origianl liquidmetal limited edition. Not sure if its psychological or emotional, but it had a real big impact on me when it was launched.

I'm aware about all the debates about the innards etc. but I think the slimmer profile of the original limited edition version suits me better. (Or I may be just hung up with that particular watch like an ex-flame...)

So before i pull the trigger I just wanted to get a few opinions on whether its still a wise choice to go for the Limited Edition 2500 LM PO, especially since its far easier and cheaper to get a current LM PO with an updated movement.

Don't hesitate, enjoy
