What about a Lemania thread?

"The customer" meaning a watch brand ordering in bulk? Or could an individual also have gotten a watch made to order?
I guess Lemania could be ordered as the customer wanted it. I assume that the stores/distributors would have stock watches as well.
The variations you may find with the same case ref is huge!

Kind of the odd ball of Lemania you don't see many of. Seen a few of these but not many with the mounting case for the bulkhead like mine.

They are cool. I loved this one ever since it did the rounds on various forums a few years ago. Bought it when it came up for auction. Since then a few have emerged (3? 4?). Anyone know their story? Were they only sold in Scandinavia?

I can only find evidence of 5. Would also love to know their backstory...alas Lemania is a black hole wrt information. @Northernman is the best source! What I can say is these in particular (thanks to @Adri ) share a case and a bezel (with a small difference in font) to the Movado SSS and Zenith A277...

Are the cases branded Lemania on the inside?

Not one of my Lemanias says ‘Lemania’ anywhere on a part of the case or caseback...I’d be highly surprised if any of yours did (but as usual I may be wrong).

Yeah I mean my military ones don't obviously but I was curious if it was different for the normal Lemania. 😀

Recent acquisition: a split-seconds chronograph running a 36,000 bph 24’’’ movement from the 1960s, a work of art created just in time to be made obsolete by the quartz revolution...

normal Lemania

...an oxymoron for sure 😀

Maybe some of the folks with non-chronos (that don’t have shared cases/casebacks with other brands they made watches for , if that indeed is the case) could be asked or share ?

Does yours have ‘Lemania’ written anywhere on/in the case or caseback? (That was the context of my suggestion based on the question that was asked of me)

I believe it is on the inside. The case is a lot like an Omega of the era, just says Lemania instead.

A bit of an update on mine. I degnatized it and is running much better but still gaining. I’m going to try and clean the hairspring to see if that helps. The hour and minute hands seem to be functioning along with the seconds hand. I need to find a new set of hands for it. Can anyone recommend some places to track down parts? Update about the hairspring tomorrow. Thx

Lemania branding on case backs are unusual.

The Elvström regatta watch is an exception.

I am sure there will also be some few others out there, but it’s very uncommon.
Normally you will only find a case ref number, and sometimes the case makers hallmark inside.

This is one of my favourite case backs:

Not only a very well designed case, but also made by a company with some serious history:

“Poinçon de Genève. Makers code “26”.
Ponti, Gennari & Cie Genève 12.09.1934 18.12.1969”

Ponti Gennari also made gold cases for Patek (stamped PG).

Their workshop building, which today houses the Patek Philippe Museum, has a fascinating history dedicated to watchmaking.

Most probably designed by the talented architect Mr William Henssler in 1919, it has witnessed gem cutting under the name Heller & Son, production of jewelry by Ponti Gennari and Piaget, and manufacturing of watchcases and bracelets since 1975 by Les Ateliers Reunis.

They also made (some) cases for Lemania.😗

Can anyone tell me the correct dial feet position for the 1270? Does any other movement have the same position, such as Landeron?
