Being more than a bit interested in Lemania and their lovely watchmaking, I was extremely surprised to see this watch up for sale. A Waltham Premier, with a Lemania heart. Lemania was the in-house supplier of chronographs within the SSHI. Omega, Tissot and so on. They also made very nicely designed 3 hand watches in the form of the caliber 3000 series. With very few exceptions these where all sold under their own name. In the case of this watch, the movement is what surprised me the most. Cal 3064 was totally unknown to me before our resident watchmaker and fellow Lemaniac, @Mitka looked it over for me. This is the highest grade finished version I have seen of a cal 3000 series movement (3060 is the normal center seconds version). The jewel count (23) is also higher than the more common 17 or 21. Even if the photos don’t show this well, the movement is decorated with “Geneva stripes”. A regular cal 3060 for comparison: The case is marked with a Lemania case ref 927-61. This dates the watch to early/mid 60s. As for the movement serial, this also matches with Lemania serial numbers of that period. Anyone with more information on this collaboration, please feel free to PM me! Cheers.
