We had/have a member named @magpie that went on a tear for these and had several. Haven't heard from him in years.
In the same vein my Dad's Speedmaster, given to him by his Dad in the occasion of his college graduation. Grandad owned a jewelry store that sold Omegas, he engraved an inscription on the back. The dial has been replaced so not the best example, but I would not trade or for any other. These photos have been posted elsewhere here, but worth sharing again.
That's because I deleted the original post (and attachments). After that ^ pair started questioning my lifestyle. I can't be bothered with that sh!t.
I've shared this here many times before, but I'll share it again..... This for me is perfection, not a single detail I would want to change. Of course I don't own one, but hoping @Robert-Jan might make that a possibility one day as a future Speedy Tuesday
My favorite watch is almost always the next one I am about to purchase... Unless I think about selling a watch to thin out the collection, then it becomes the watch I am about to sell and I end up keeping it...
PP Ref 2499 .... had a chance to get one back in 1986 at a really good price but bought something else. I never thought the replacement for the Ref 2499, the Ref 3870 was as good looking as the 2499 so was never tempted.
