What’s up with my end links?

Hi all

One of the 570 end links on my BOR started to pop out on the backside. It is easily snugged back into place, but it also fairly easily pops back out. This is my first and only bracelet, so I don’t have any experience with what’s going on. Should I take it to my watchmaker for a look? Thanks in advance for your guidance 👍

Larger diameter spring bars may help. Or simply closing the profile of the end pieces.

Love the numerals!

Those end links that aren’t solid were often bent either unintentionally by using too much force or intentionally, to fit a case they weren’t made for, for example. Yours might have been bent open a little bit - unless it has been fiddled with too much, your watchmaker should be able to work on it to bring it back to form so it sits tighter - or you could try thicker spring bars, that’s also a possible source for the failure.
Had bent end links a few times and always managed to fix it or have it fixed. Have you removed the bracelet and compared the two end links if they’re both shaped the same?

/edit too slow 😀

To reshape enlinks, I use a pair of fine nosed pliers wrapped in electrical tape (so it doesn’t leave tool marks on the endlinks). Keeping them attached to the bracelet with a spring bar gives you something to hold on to. A little squeeze on both sides (top and bottom in the pliers) should bring the gap closer. It’s a fussy process of reshape, refit- take off, reshape- refit. Once you finally get it- it’s done.

As noted, adjusting the shape of the end-links can be a DIY job if you're so inclined. Your watchmaker would also be a good resource for help.

Thank you 😀 Looking at that dial always makes me smile.

And thank you, @Canuck, @JwRosenthal and @Dan S for your help here. I think I’ll take it to my watchmaker - I need to remind him that he’s had a few pieces of mine for a bit too long now anyway.

I finally got to my watchmaker the other day so he could take a look at this. The spring bar had bent out of shape (I do now recall a slight glancing off of my dining table prior to the issue presenting itself). Spring bar replaced, no charge, have a nice day.

Nice to be wearing my watch again 😀
