You only have to do 3 things to get by in most jobs:
1) be on time
2) be good at what you do
3) be nice to work with

But, if you're really good at 2 sometimes you can skip a third item from the list.

Don’t take any wooden nickels...

But since 2013 I guess it would have to include all nickels...

1.You can't have everything; focus on doing a few things very well.
2. Take care of your health while you're young and without chronic conditions.
3. It will never be "the right time" to do anything. Such as investing/starting a business/going back to school, etc.

One should always live by the Bible.

Old testament: An eye for an eye.

New testament: Do unto others like they would do unto you. But get in first!

Don't trust a guy that considers himself anti-flipper and then he purchases a watch in the new grey market.

Courtesy of a wise uncle.
Don’t argue with idiots
Don’t argue with drunks
Don’t argue with zealots
(Observation; sometimes these are the same person)

the one I remember the most, 55 years ago and well before the release of the Dunning-Krueger effect, “the most dangerous person in the world is a stupid bastard who thinks he’s smart”

Related, from the great Mark Twain - "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

The more mistakes you make the more likely your are to find the solution. Don't give up!!

Giving compliments if far harder than critiques.

Bad news travels 3 times faster than good news.

@Omegafanman I laughed out loud when i saw these two excellent life hacks!!! There are many more cracking and sometime essential advice in this thread. For example - having not faced the trouble of transporting a duck and will forever remember the problems of a cardboard box.

Never eat yellow snow followed by these two guides…

Don’t get stuck in the past it was a lesson not a life sentence. (Read on a jail wall when I was visiting someone)
