Condition, condition, condition.

From a former Professor:
"I see the writing on the wall, I'm just surprised you can't!"

That one stung at the time, but he was right...I was floundering and did not have the passion for the path I was trying to travel. I've always kept that conversation in mind when building my career (in a completely different field), and it has paid dividends!

Another I live by: "If you know something, teach someone"...this is another reason my career has been so rewarding

Everything is impossible until you do it once.
Do it twice and it is easy.
Then you are an expert, help someone else do it.

Only advice I remember my dad giving me was as I was heading off to university: Study hard and don't get her pregnant.

Good guys finish last.
People will believe a lie if it has a small amount of truth to it.

I was once told the 3 things to remember as you get older
Never pass an open bathroom
Never waste a hard-on
Never trust a fart

All have served me well 😁

Also

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

No they don't. Character is EVERYTHING.

Have to agree. I never understood that quote. Finish what last? The race for what? Ego gratification and materialism? Happy to be enlightened as to what endeavors being nice causes one to be behind in. To my way of thinking, a good chunk of the world’s problems are emanating from exactly the antithesis of being nice.

A Japanese proverb that states "fall seven times, get up eight".
Basically, never give up.

Here's a couple: "Do what you say you're going to do." And, "Worry is like a rocking chair, it'll give you something to do, but it won't get you anywhere. "

"Good guys finish last" was penned, and oft repeated, by cats who are pissed and wallowing.

It's a bullshit sentiment for The Soft & Angry.
