Anyone in NYC had any luck picking one up at one of the stores?
My wife is taking our oldest daughter up there in December and I've tasked her to pick one up if possible.
But being almost 5 months away...things could change.

Of course with a small budget of 250, for an item which appears to be unavailable, customers immediately go for another item of the same brand which actually costs 40x or even 75x more (321 Ed White)...
Where there initial budget wouldn't even buy a strap (NATO = 300, leather = 520)
😁

You are of course implying something that was never stated in the article (not that I am surprised by this in the slightest). I don't believe anyone suggested that people wanting a Moonswatch and couldn't buy one, opted for a real Speedmaster. Only that the general attention all this received has generated more interest in the Speedmaster.

"generated more interest in the Speedmaster..."
How what that measured? Counting the number of instagram posts ? ::facepalm1::

I've seen that video, but have been ignoring it and I think I will continue to lol.
But this was according to Mr. Hayek himself:
...another effect of the MoonSwatch is that more Speedmaster Professional Moonwatches are being sold. The MoonSwatch gets people into buying Swiss watches, whether that’s another Swatch model (non-MoonSwatch) or the original Moonwatch by Omega....

@SpeedyPhill is like a moon landing denier when it comes to this watch...

I don't blame him. Who doesn't have a few relatives they'd like to deny exist.

Try Biel, apparently they have usually two different versions available.
Made a little vacation trip to Lyon and Geneve: two times randomly at this time in the shop when the delivery arrived: Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Saturn

Better than i have experienced. I have been to Honolulu, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. All with No MoonSwatch stock. Promoting the hunt is interesting, I guess carbon footprints did not factor into that.

For owners, accuracy of this watch?

It's a standard Quartz so likely +/- 15 to 20 secs a months on paper. In reality if worn mostly on the wrist to minimise temperature fluctuations, within 5-8 seconds a month. Nothing special about its accuracy compared to other entry level quartz stuff on the market from any brand.

Anyone?
I don’t track accuracy at the seconds level but my MoonSwatch remains accurate to the minute. I haven’t had to set it since I bought it on release day and that’s plenty good for me. In fact, I typically use the MoonSwatch as the benchmark against which I set my mechanicals in the mornings.
