Saw this on Chronotrader today: http://chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?page=1;md=read;id=72650 And here is the auction: http://www.ebay.it/itm/Omega-Speedm...012-105-012-Extract-Archive-Box-/201959391986Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Check out this weird caseback. Looks pretty suspicious to me, but I am no expert in 105.012 - 145.012 transition pieces. What do you guys think? Is there any way this is legit? Also note, there is no image of the actual movement serial #. Seems scammy.
Some info here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/odd-speedmaster-help-105-012-66-with-145-012-sp-stamp.55769/ Basically, double stamped 105.012/145.012 is accepted. I'm not sure about the stamping out of the 105.012 part. Doing some research myself now.
As to the ad, it seems legit to me. Many collectors will not display the movement number. Due diligence and direct contact with the seller will prove or disprove this. ...as to buying Speedmasters from Roma, Well... caveat emptor.
Hm..has been sold here previously by @The Master of Speed. You might get in contact with him for clarification. https://omegaforums.net/threads/ome...ional-105012-66-cb-rewritten-145012-sp.56660/
I'm still waiting on my extract to come back to determine if it's a 105 or 145, will obviously post the results. Ordered it on April 19th... seems like it's taking a long time? I did pick the watch up and it's perfect! Cleaned up beautifully and keeps great time... I've been waiting for the extract to come back to post it all in one big pic heavy thread. Think I'll just go ahead and do the watch reveal without the extract, hopefully get all my pics together and have that posted by this weekend.
