Water Resistance Inquiry...

So I just picked up the modern Speedmaster Mark II Co-Axial Chrono racing dial and I always just live by the rule if I'm going to get wet, put a diver on.

But this one is teasing me with the rating of 100 Meters Water Resistance. According to Omega's chart that means that I could not only "submerge in water" but also even safely go snorkeling? So tempting!?

Do any of you take your chronos with at least a 10 bar rating swimming? If so, dare the chronograph function be engaged while submerged? These aren't screw down pushers after all.

Thanks,

Brannon

Before you wear it in water, have it water resistance tested. If you wear it in water a lot, have it water resistant tested before each strenuous exposure, or at least, annually. I don't wear ANY watch in water, but that's a personal decision.

I have a friend who bought a new Breitling chrono. Showered with it every day. Only took him 6 months to ruin it.

I wouldn't take the chance, and would definitely follow your wet/diver rule.

yes, thats one of those "better save than sorry" situations in life ... I'd err def. on the conservative side ... lets face it ... compared to 40 years back, when people just had ONE watch there was little you could do , but today, I guess that most folks her have at least 3+ watches to boot with ;-)

cheers, All
