Watchmaker screws up PO.

I hadn't seen him in a while and he was very good with everything I gave him so far.
His time has come I guess.

I also had to stop using a watchmaker that I used to bring some of my watches to. For many years he always did solid work at a good price. I didn't bring him anything that was really complicated or high-value, but it was good to have him as a resource to service entry-level hand-winding pieces and pocket watches. Unfortunately, at some point, he started to have trouble getting watches to work correctly after servicing them, and they would come back to me not working quite right, and he couldn't always get them running well again. Eventually I just stopped bringing him watches to service, but I'll still go by to have him change batteries in my wife's watches, to install a crystal, or just to say hi when I'm in the neighborhood.

And since I'm in Montr茅al...please let me know who that watchmaker is so I can avoid the hel out of him.

Moi aussi.

(And the list gets longer...)

So when i dropped my PO at the authorized service center I was told 3-4 weeks itll be ready.
Now they added another 3 weeks to that cause of covid. And if things shut down completely like in California, God knows when I'll get it back.

So, the Omega service centre can't get a sapphire crystal for this watch? And they've asked you to find one?

Let the Omega Service Centre handle it, all things considered you aren't going to save much money by sourcing your own crystal. And I don't think they would put one on that was provided by customer.

If i find one, I'd give it to my watchmaker so he can change it. Simple crystal change right?
If I cant and still want to change it....I'll let the service center do it. The ar coating has a few hairlines that are only visible at certain angles.
Sucks being anal lol.

As long as your watchmaker has a very good press, and a supply of crystal gaskets, he can change it.

I'm assuming you are asking where to find one because your watchmaker can't get the crystal himself. If he can't get the crystal, he can't get the gaskets. So you also need to find gaskets for him as these must be replaced when the crystal is removed - they are one time use only.

The chances of you finding these on the open market at a lower cost than Omega will charge, is very slim...
