Watches and motorcycling

I m pretty sure I m not the only one here who cannot survive for very long without a watch on the wrist...
And while motorcycling, a watch is really uncomfortable (with tight sleeves on the leather jacket-as they should be- and gauntlet gloves ) and can also be dangerous in a crash, especially with a staliniens steel bulk on the wrist (which I mostly wear throughout summer).

Once I m off the bike however, I really miss my watches so how do you guys deal with this? I thought about carrying them in a pocket or a bag and putting them on the wrist once I dismount..

I only ride for a couple of hundred miles, not overnight, so I don't wear any watch since the bike already has a clock on the instrument panel. If I was going on a lengthy trip I'd take whatever watch I wanted and put it in a service case of some make (the standard Omega one would be fine) and tuck it in my tank bag or pannier, and wear it when I got to my destination.

A pocket watch in a pocket would be more hazardous than a wrist watch under your leather jacket in a crash. Falling on the case would leave a nice bruise on your thigh, and also the issue of a shattered crystal.

For context, most of my miles these days are overnight trips with a few riding buddies who have similar experience levels and affinity for story telling and fried pickles at local breweries around the state. I’ve started wearing an f91 or similar during the ride. It’s small enough to fit under gear and gloves comfortably but still prevents me from compulsively looking down at a naked wrist at fuel and lunch stops. I might pack a beater diver or similar to wear at the brewery while recounting the day.

Or go ballistic with a speedy on velcro strap, a leisure ride. Ride safely.

That's what I use. Speedy on a Kizzi strap, for motorised and non-motorised two wheeled transport.

I don't wear leathers, it's too hot, only textiles.
