Watchco Seamaster 300 service

I recently acquired a Watchco Seamaster 300 and would like to have it serviced. The movement is running slow and erratic on the timegrapher, the crown sticks and probobly needs new gaskets. Omega and Nesbits wont service it due to mixed parts ( date vs non date but the parts are genuine omega). Any recommendations of a US based watch repair? Much appreciated!

just about any reputable watchmaker should have no issues with it... where are you based in the States? Some forum members will be happy to recommend.

What exactly are the parts that are mixed?

I’m gathering he has a 565 under a no-date dial.

May not be the only reason, which is why I'm asking...

My official WatchCo came with a 552. I'm mildly surprised Nesbit's wouldn't service it.

Right, but you have a no-date dial which is correct for the 552. The 565 is a date movement and if you pair that with a no-date dial, it is technically not in keeping with the “correct” movement for the 165.024.

I guess my point was, who would put a 565 movement in when the 552 is the one to use and not exactly rare?

I have a 552 but they said the case seems to be for a 565 date.

This is what I thought it might be. Nesbit may not really understand these so I’m not completely surprised that they made this conclusion. The 1660324 case is technically a date case, but of course it works fine with non date movements and dials. They just don’t get it, so best to move on and deal with someone who does.

the very point of WatchCo is that they used 166.0324 cases. 166 means date except when it's not.

For LA Watchworks : have them write you the maximal possible costs. Service costs extra to possible parts costs. I do not expect you to need parts. Good luck.

Looking at the movement, the rotor has been scraping on the case back - you can see the evidence on both. Based on that, I'd say your prediction is unlikely. Usually when the movement gets this far, there are other things that are worn as well. Very few of these ever come into my shop (55X. 56X, and 75X) that don't need parts, particularly in the automatic winding. And yes, those parts are expensive, and getting more expensive all the time.
