·I've collected various watch winders over the years including Orbita, Scatola del Tempo and Underwood, plus a few real junkers given away for buying a watch. They can be handy for perpetual calendar watches but even then it isn't that difficult to reset a perpetual calendar mechanism if it has stopped for awhile. I mostly use them for display purposes now, they make a nice visual statement in my library/study. I might have one or two running and rotate my automatic watches through them. But if one breaks I'm not replacing it.

·I use a free watch winder (my hand) and I let my watches run out when I’m not wearing them. Unless I’m testing the timing, which I haven’t been interested in doing the past couple of months. Also 60% of my collection is manual wind.

·I will just leave them in the tray, whenever I feel like wearing, I will just pick one up, adjust the time, wind it... Personaly I enjoy that process than a winding machine.

·The OP will change his opinion once hodinkee unveils their $8500 official watch winder for those that couldn't be bothered to indulge themselves into winding and setting watches. 👍

That might be a great product idea.
Imagine a vest, like the Service Dogs wear, that would hold up to 8 watches in velcro pockets (4 watches on each side).
Taking the dog for a walk could wind up 8 watches at a time!

·I think watch winders are a nice way to display you watches but not necessary ... Its a kind of niche item .
