Actually, my confusion is over the instructions for my new Wolf modular 4.1 winder. My previous winders either had no bi-directional setting, or if they did, they split the required TPD 50/50 between left and right. But the Wolf instructions (and Simon Wolf himself) state that in bi-directional mode, the 4.1 will actually turn double the TPD set on the LCD. I called Wolf to get this info sorted and was told that when the manufacturer specifies TPD and lists bi-directional as the winding direction, they're saying the watch needs that number of turns in EACH direction. What say you fellows? Both my boutique and watchmakers in the Omega and Breitling dealers say this is totally bogus. A bi-directional watch can be wound either direction or a combination of both, as long as the total TPD is met.

Is the world ending? Did I wake up in a parallel universe where Omega forums has become WUS? ::facepalm1::

Calm down, I've merged his question into an existing thread on the topic of wolf winders with total TPD in bi-directional model.

I think it's me who woke up in a parallel universe. I posted this to start a new thread over in the modern watches forum, and when I revisit that forum, it's gone and injected into this thread. I had to surf my own profile page to find it. My apologies, but I didn't do it.
Repoman...Redirecting my question to where it might be answered is more trouble than it's worth? Dsio, thanks much.

That reply was from before I merged them, I was actually surprised by the fact that Wolf winders including my own turn at the number displayed times two for bi-directional mode too so figured it was relevant for it to be here.

I don't know where Wolf got the idea that bi-directional watches need the stated TPD in EACH direction, but this clearly is their opinion. Easy enough to work around, but how many others don't realize it and end up putting 100% more winds on their watch than it needs?

I must be slowing down as I get older..but I can't distinguish WUS-like threads/post/questions like many of us around here are capable of. 📖

I'm glad coolness prevailed and one of our Mods saved the world from colliding with a killer meteor.. we'll resume regular broadcasting now.😁 back to topic, good info!

The trajectories of the remaining two were projected to hit somewhere down under, hence the lesser priority to intercept… 😁

Because the 8507 is just a 8500/8501 for the bond limited edition.

Yes, it took me about 10 seconds to find it... But if you teach a man to fish...

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=watch winder settings&l=1

Basically every watch is at the Orbita database.
