Watch vs guitar

So I told My wife I’d be buying a decent guitar instead of a watch within the next few months. Me and a buddy actually cut a 700 dollar Yamaha guitar in half to check on the build. It’s Chinese made but actually built where an American luthier could appreciate it and they did.
I was going for a traveling guitar but they lose a lot of tone so I moved back to regular scale.

My buddy had a Tudor 1926 moonphase for sale I was close to buying it and told my wife but it’s only like 36-40hrs not much for a moonphase. Might be better off with a good Martin, Yamaha or Takamine.

I have always liked the simple Tudor 1926 and to my surprise my wife asked me to show her the moonphase when she got home. I resisted as I thought a 40hr moonphase would not be helpful. Unless anyone here has such a moonphase at a comparable price. I can deal in guitars watches or wife’s. As a matter of fact we can do watch’s and wife’s separate.

Excuse me I had another resuscitation of a client today and once I saw the blue leave their face for human color and knew I arrived on time it’s just the first time since January.

I’m really happy the clients like my music and watches. I just bought a bunch on good will to give to the stabilized tough cases. So I bought enough to cover clients I’d love to buy a moonphase or perpetual here. No big deal though they are only watches. I am coming out of cold weather protocol which is the worst one we have had in 46 years.

Oh boy, contact me about watches and here is a favorite the clients notice.

Vintage Martin!

Vintage Martin!

Vintage Martin!

Always wanted a Martin myself, however I never was good enough on the old, now near 50 year old Yamaha here to warrant spending on a Martin.

Sort of like me considering a no-date Rolex sub when I retired in 2016. Held off and they were near twice the price in 2021 and made of "unobtanium" when I again considered a Sub. Decided that I didn't need a Sub anyway for I had become too old to rock a Sub.

Our eldest son has a quite nice Taylor he purchased new about 20 years ago. I don't know how Taylor quality currently stacks up against the competition.

The only way of knowing if a Tudor 1926 moonphase is any good is to cut it in half, no? 😉
Yes no open case back. But although crazy to cut a guitar in half (at the body) showed us 600 usd Yamaha made in China is actually well put together. We filmed it for a luthier we know at a respected shop in our state and after calling us several choice words he was impressed at the chineses Yamaha. It’s one step below the U.S. made ones and has a very nice tone (not anymore)

Tbh noekeekee that’s where I’m at. I don’t know if my playing warrants me getting a Martin yet. I’m also having and electric/acoustic battle with myself. May go acoustic with good electronics and when I get too mad about lack of progress I break out my bass and play some runs.

We did a nice something today I played bass and McCartney wrote such a killer bass line for something that often gets lost with the beauty of the rest of the song.
