馃槜Being a kid of the 70s and due to my older siblings and my friends older siblings record collections the likes of everyone from Dire Straits, The Police, Journey, Van Halen, Gary Moore, ACDC, Boston and being an English lad the obligatory Pistols, Maiden, Zeppelin and mighty Sabbath got me absolutely hooked on that huge crunch and 'thud' that you can only get from plugging a Gibson or Fender through a Marshall stack at max volume and thus sent me on a path of the mythical and inexhaustible path of the tone chase. Subsequently fell in love with the punk scene, and the hair metal scene, and then the thrash scene and then the numetal scene and had soooo much fun throughout the 80s, 90s and into the early 00s馃槑. I've been in many local bands and been through soooo much gear 馃槜馃槑 since before my teens but still can't shake the 'urge'!! Almost 50 years later I still absolutely love it and still play in a band with one of my oldest closest friends and go to plenty of gigs. My oldest gear consists of a couple 70s Marshall heads and cabs and an 80s ibanez RG550 but I've then somehow (cus I was always skint!) managed to acquire some cool US teles, a couple of special dimebag (Pantera) Washburns and Dean, plus a guitar builder friend of mine built me an awsome reverse headstock partscaster, and don't get me started on pedals, I've got fkn boxes full of em!! Anyone else?馃榾

I don't consider myself a gear junkie, but I currently have 5 guitars and a bass, my favorites being a couple of Squiers: a '96 Squier Pro Tone strat and a Classic Vibe thinline telecaster. I had a big amp but sold it like a year ago and moved to smaller practice amps.

I've been taking guitar lessons since I retired in 2018. I enjoy playing guitar, but I've been diagnosed with Gutiar Acquisition Syndrome. To the best of my knowledge there is no known cure, but buying guitars seems to ease the symptoms. (Gretsch White Falcon Cadillac, Fender 75th Anniversary Stratocaster, Stratocaster Professional, Rickenbacker 360-6, Gibson Les Paul Standard, Fender 52 American Vintage Telecaster)

In the 60s I was attending high school and this was the instrument I played with some friends. Even today I find myself strumming it.

Wow! That is a very special Italian guitar. It's great that you have kept it all these years what a treasure.

I'm into steel string acoustics. These two are a Guild F-20 from 1966 and a Gibson L-00 from 1937.
