Interestingly, the author Martin Niemoller originally supported Hitler, and found himself in concentration camps before being liberated by the Allies. Some self-reflection adds to the depth of this.

I apologize for the unwelcome news! Interesting that he preformed the ceremony though. I only know the story anecdotally, but surely he reconsidered his support of Nazi Germany.

I got that, was trying to reassure you. I may have misinterpreted your previous post.
My grandfather was with the 3rd Army scouts when they liberated Buchenwald. I've spent quite some time thinking on the human cost, mentalities, resilience, hate, hope, and stuggles that surrounded Nazi Germany, the peoples they persecuted, and the people witness to the hell.
