Most of you will have seen this. It came out several years ago.

Spend the minute to watch it, you could save a life, and if you share it with your entourage, they may save yours.

Vinnie is wearing a watch too.

In November 2004 my partner and I cut down a man who had hung himself moments earlier. It freaked me out when he came back to life just as I was about to breathe into him (we did the way more complicated CPR back then).

I did not go to bed with a feeling of satisfaction that night. I was still freaked out and did not sleep. I guess I got used to them staying dead.

Thanks for sending this out, Steve. It’s a very valuable reminder. As we know, the number to call is 9-1-1 in the US; not sure what it is in Canada.

That’s also quite a freaky cop story. Without any police training, I would have been pretty unsettled after that whether they stayed dead or not!

I don't know much about this actor but I loved his role as Sebastian Moran in Elementary.

Thanks for sharing the commercial.

Search "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels + Big Chris" for the actor; and "Paul Gascoigne Vinnie Jones" for the, ahem, sportsman...

Ah, good old Vinnie. I remember when he used to play for my football team part-time back when he was a hod carrier - long curly hair, and a good midfielder. Then the, ahem, tear-inducing squeezing incident with Gazza a few years later in the top division 😲

Got certified in CPR in 21. Wife did too. This is the essence. Good reminder. Staying Alive” easy to remember, right beat. We learned how to use the machines too.

I seem to remember Steven Berkoff doing one of these quite a few years ago and it has always stock with me.

Done and a timely reminder.
A bit of thread drift (and a language alert) but it is surprising how effective the true London Gangster can be at sorting problems and motivating people. You can rent one…..

Hey thanks Steve I remember the switch to hands only although we are given the mouth prophylactics. It’s amazing how tiring those compressions can be if you are alone. Like you ive performed compressions a few times, most of the time the ambulance rolls up and takes over thank goodness but on a few OD victims (and suicide) they did take a breath. I broke a couple ribs on you person. They threw up after that first breath so don’t forget to tilt their head. I also didn’t go to bed with a savior thing more of a “wtf was that”.

I did use my speedy date to time the ten minute intervals I switched off with my coworker. Don’t read the success rate of cpr you may think “why even bother” but if you can keep blood and O2 flowin to that brain while emergency services makes it’s way you have given them/they a chance. In the cases I saw them gasp take in air I think it was more naloxone than us. Damn crappy topic I feel more miserable now thanks.
