Family watch, acquired by my father’s uncle in the immediate post-World War II era. I'd like to know if it’s a truly gold Omega (or...gilded?) or a low-value centaur except for its story’s worth (the uncle was imprisoned for political reasons before WWII, and when he got out he said: ‘For many years I was without time, today I finally have time and I want watches too.’ So he bought Omega, Marvin, Zenith). Thanx in advance

The movement is Omega, but not an Omega licensed case. You would need to have it tested by a jeweler to see if it is solid gold. Dial was refinished a long time ago.

Hope this helps,
