Wanted to buy?

Hello I am curious why, as a member who has under 200 posts, am I restricted to posting on the Wanted to buy thread?

I get why there are controls in place to limit who can sell on the private sales page, to protect everyone on the forum. But I don't understand why I cant post an add looking for a part for a watch that I would like to buy?

I can buy on the private sales page and in fact have several times but I can't put an add on the wanted page to hopefully find a seller so I can buy a part?

There is no risk to the community if I want to purchase a part off another member on the community, in fact the risk is all mine cause I could possibly purchase a part off someone who does not have 200 posts. That would be my individual decision to take that risk.

Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help in understanding this and I know the answer is to just post 50 more times and then I will be allowed post on that thread but 50 posts still takes time as I would like to make meaningful contributions to my posts no just simple one word posts.

Having 200 posts also gives potential buyers the ability to eye up the seller to ascertain their trustworthiness or other attributes that might make for a safe good and risk free sale.

Yah totally get that ghce, but in the parts wanted thread I am the buyer? So one would think I could buy parts without needed 200 posts. But I guess the community doesn’t want people coming to just buy parts.

Sorry there seems to be some confusion. I’m talking about the thread below Wanted to buy, it’s the thread that people post a part they are looking for not the thread for parts for sale.

In other words I want to post the part I am looking for and say “hey I’m looking for this part if anyone has that part please let me know so I can possibly buy it from you”.

But I get the forums reasons for the restriction. Thanks to everyone for the feedback on this question.

where does one even see their post count?
