Just picked up this watch at a thrift store for $10. It's a Waltham superthin 25 automatic. Trying to date it but there is no serial number on the movement. Anyone able to help?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry can’t help but wanted to say cool pick up. The movement looks pretty clean for a thrift store that’s cool. Wear it in good health

Thanks! It seems pretty clean but is running quite fast. About twice as fast as it should. Need to figure out why.

Tritium = post ‘63, stylistically ‘63-‘68.

Running that fast - probably hairsping is hung-up. Sometimes just taking the balance assembly out can solve the issue by freeing up the coil.

Ha the old Waltham I bought had the same issue. It ended up being magnitized but it was running 20x fast. Probably just get it to a service if you plan on wearing it you will be good

Hairspring looks stuck together either from goo or magnetized.

I had a look under my microscope and you are correct. Spring is stuck together in many spots. I'll take it in to get serviced. Not sure what this watch would be worth but I'll get it running so I can wear it.

That's a great score! Been looking for one of those for a long while now, at $10.00 from a thrift shop would have made my month.

Dial looks very nice, case not too badly worn at the edges. It should clean up nicely. I really like the thinner cases, especially the self winders.
