Always fancied one of these, one day I'll get one...
You won't regret it, they really are wonderful watches. You can see what a difference the flyback would have made for navigators instead of the usual start/stop/reset/start again. I should have taken a photo of the caseback with all the FG markings too. Always nice to see those, adds to the history of the watch. If I remember correctly the earliest FG marking was Feb '71, so the watch probably dates to 1969.

September 1990 Mil E Type Marathon 348A. Found in amongst a host of quartz watches after the loss of the WWW Record...and running well with the band to boot!

I’ve been drooling over an Omega MOD watch on the bay for days but don’t have the $2200 for it! One day I’ll have one. But the current SAS issue is the Planet Ocean so my watch is kind of a military watch!

Hanhart 1941 ish. Unfortunately someone cannibalised the chrono parts so it only tells the time. Any suggestions where to source the bits? Long shot I know.

The patinated, brassed case is so appealing to my eye. looks like original pushers and crown, too. Just so happens I'm sporting my Hanhart from 1942 today as well.

Try Zaf Basha at classicwatch. He may be a good source or possibly act as an intermediary to a German/European specalist shop that can get the chrono bits all squared away and installed for you.

Thanks I'll send him an email and see if he has any pointers.
I'm not usually a fan of 'wabi' but I certainly like the well aged look of this.

Yes, but its honestly earned wabi... please keep us posted as you get yours prepped the way you'd like. Is the basic timekeeping of your watch good?

speaking of wabi, the bezel on my Hahart shows more wear on its left side compared to the right , apparently from contact with a shirt cuff over many years of wear. Also has a bit of green funk around the lugs which I intend to keep in place. Probably lug/case solder flux?

All the colors meld nicely between shirt, sweater and watch. This is about as color coordinated and accessorized as I ever get...😉
I really appreciate these old tool watches.

Very nice ^^
I'll certainly update the thread if by a miracle I can locate the parts.
This one hasn't a scrap of plating left, it's certainly lived a life. Nice dial though. Timekeeping is good on the wrist not so good off it.
