Never noticed this thread before, perhaps because I didn't have a true military issued piece to display.

I have been wearing this on and off since it came back from my Watch Maker on Tuesday and I love it, had to have it soon as I saw it on our local auction site and after a whole heap of internet research came to the conclusion that I would probably never again get the opportunity to own one of these if I didn't jump on it quick.

All in ( as far as I can tell) original unmolested condition, bought from a fellow collector who had had it in his collection for over 20 years, it still has a Russian leather strap so presumably it made its way via a Russian seller to middle Europe ( Netherlands) and then here to NZ.

How did he think that he was going to get away with this - what a plonker! I noticed that CWC are taking pre-orders for their second batch of reissued 1980 diver watches and at the original price. I have one of these and would highly recommend them to anyone with a penchant for military watches.

Total clown although he is not alone as on occasion I have spotted others up to the same game 🙁

Confess I know nothing about Russian military pieces but I do like that one 👍

The Breitling 817 was introduced in 1975 specifically made as a tool watch for Italian Army Helicopter pilots, and in some rare cases to platoon commanders of the Battaglione Paracadutisti Carabinieri Tuscania.

Oh, my! I absoluuuuuuuuutely love the 817!

Omega 6B/159 '56 with what could be an unusual MOD dial. I like it either way and it goes with my odd dialled (no circle T) '53.

On the wrist today:

In the pocket, fresh from a stay at our local spa (dates to 1912-1914, case code matched to the dial):

Now I need that lanyard from @DaveK to wear it!

Long gone are the times when I owned many military pieces but of the few I now have this Smiths is probably the favourite 😀

When I wore these Corcorans my watch was quite modest, an issued Hamilton. This one would have “drawn unwanted attention.”
The Hamilton is in this photo.
