Sell all your pieces and go for a Datograph.
I thought the same thing when holding one, just epic. Not to mention Dufour owns one, which is akin to Picasso buying a painting from another artist.

An 1815 up down is a grail watch. I fear walking into an AD or Boutique for this reason. Marshall Pierce in Chicago will a test in courage for me but I'm gonna do it. Eventually.
Do it! Do it! They're a great bunch of people - enjoy the experience.

I bought my Reverso in the old location. Agree that they are a first rate dealer.

Same reason why I will not walk into a JLC Boutique. I'll find the perfect reverso

The 1815 Chrono is irresistible value, a sort of Dato "lite".

Stunning. I do find the design gets put a little off-kilter by the back end of the chrono hand intersecting with the fly back script. Or is that just the angle of the photograph?

I think that is just the angle of the photo, that seems like a pretty big thing that Lange would not overlook.

Even if it's close, I'd assume there are many instances where the angle of the watch as you glance at it would make it appear the same as in the photo.

I'm not saying I'd turn this one down, mind you 😜

I have just checked and Jwit is correct. It is the angle of the photo. Having said that it is very close but I have not noticed it when wearing the 1815.

On second thought, I don't care:

If I were you I'd sell it immediately... preferably for an incredibly low price to someone who lives in Canada.

What an incredible timepiece.

Wow, I now feel inadequate with my lonely Lange !
I stumbled across the 1815 when looking for a Dato and realised the only difference was the thickness and the non date. Plus the 1815 is a FAR better value proposition.
I have attached a better pic of the movement.Enjoy.

This is a watch that I would fully support you wearing upside down every other day.

I specifically planned to visit the ALS boutique on a recent trip to Shanghai. Auditioning grails is a lot of fun. I posted this picture and others on IG.

I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by the Saxonia Thin. It is a fine watch indeed. I thought the 35mm pink gold one looked particularly nice.

I really like the outsize date and thought the Lange 1 would be "The One" based on pictures. However, it now seems a little thick in person. I guess all the vintage watches are ruining me for the larger, thicker watches.

I also like the lower price on the Saxonia. I was astonished to see that one could buy a new ALS for less than 15k USD. If I did the math right, the Saxonia Thin was around 12k USD! That's another reason to go for Saxonia rather than the Lange 1.

@Drawarms, that Moonphase could be a new grail contender due to the outsize date! I wish they had one at the Shanghai boutique. Guess I'll have to go to another boutique, darn it all... 😉

Pardon me, I see that the picture above is the Saxonia and not the Saxonia Thin.

The Thin doesn't have the individual minute markers, but only the hour indices.

I actually prefer the 1815 Chronograph to the Datograph. It's a little thinner so fits under a cuff more easily. It feels less top heavy in the way the original Datograph does. I'm not a fan of either new versions of the 1815 Chronograph or Datograph Auf/Ab.

I've always liked Lange and have often thought of chopping the collection in and getting a Lange. I can't bring myself to do it just yet but if I did, it would have to be the datagraph.

Until recently, I'd not had a detailed look at one in the metal however someone brought along a 1815 Flyback to the last Time4APint meet. Absolutely stunning. The finishing on the movement was exquisite.
