The Bond was for sale (didn't ask for a price). The Pepsi he waited 11 months to get it for 10.000euro (brand new must be retail price?). He said he is keeping it for him self but he is keeping it in the safe in the meantime and would only sell it for a crazy offer. He also has a SS Batman on the oyster bracelet. Same as the Apollo 11. But i managed to see a 9000euro tag on it.

was the Pepsi for sale and not a preowned marked-up piece?

He said he got it for himself and he would only sell it if he had a crazy offer. So i guess its not for sale then 😜

Everything is for sale- for the right price- that’s what he was implying.

Exactly! I meant not for sale for someone who was hoping to buy it at retail.

But as an AD he can’t say that...gotta love the game these guys play. Either sell it at MSRP as Rolex has specified for its dealers, or sell it out the back door to your favorite grey reseller. But don’t try to bait the clientele in the store- just tacky.

all AD use "maybe" I can get you one to bait you. always at the bottom of the list if any inventory comes in

In his defense he only showed me the watch as a friend. He doesn't have it on display neither does he tell 'normal customers" that he has it for sale.

Thus why I always buy privately from reputable sellers- no games, this is what I want & this is what I want to pay. But some love the game so more power to them.

Love those Omega's, not too sure about the Pepsi, my love for Rolex seems to have been affected by Covid-19 and I have cooled on the brand.

Surprisingly i think the Bond looks way better in real life compared to the Apollo. But the bracelet on the Apollo is magnificent.

Damn, once they let me put that Rolex on, I would have dashed out the door. I know I could outrun any watch salesman

Same here. This is one of the reasons I'm leaning toward vintage now.

Well, I suspect that he was an Omega AD, not a Rolex AD. So he can do whatever he wants with that Rolex.

My AD sells both (among others by which Rolex & Omega are mid-tier watches for them). No games there- wait list for the barren (other than precious metal) fancy Rolex wing off the main store- pre-owned case full of watches clearly tagged with price and of course- subject to negotiation based on your relationship with them. Any retailer that says “I don’t know- it would take a lot to get this out of my hands”, immediately loses my interest. The “scarcity factor” sales tactic doesn’t work on me.
