My Omega... I think these are underrated... Great thread - has made me think in need a few more triple date moon phases in the collection
Stumbled across this today, pics of my first triple date. Sorry, no moonphase. Found at an honest price in honest condition, a rarity these days. The lugs look lumpy in the top photo but it's only the light playing tricks
2471 And a 2606 Here they are together, I love these two and it really is quite tricky to find nice examples.
Do you have to change them every single time you want to use them? Do you use watch winders? Aren't some manual wind? Oh ya, and WOW!
The majority are these vintage TDMP watches were manual wind, I don't recall seeing a 1950's automatic version anyway. To be honest setting them up is both a pain and a joy...I love setting them up when they have just come back from service, as 1. everything is nice and cleaned and oiled, and 2. they are under guarantee if something goes wrong! Once set up it's nice to keep them running for a week or two and wear them in rotation. Pre-service I always feel the set up is a bit of a risk, all those little biddy bits being pushed and adjusted can make me nervous for catastrophic happenings... .....I seem to remember having something of a panic attack once with this one : https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-381-missing-pusher-for-month-corrector-help.50942/#post-613574
