So I'm a sucker for larger-sized time-only manual vintage watches, and I come across this RG Eberhard.

I think it's not a redial (some light patina, methinks), and movt looks ok. Not so sure about the crown though. Caseback looks not too different from one that Kyle sold previously, and at least the subdials are not filled like like a prior redial posted a while ago.

Would anyone have any experience with these? Thoughts and opinions welcome, thanks in advance!

Edit: further research shows this looks like a cal 137

Redial warning light has not activated. Looks nice. Not an Eberhard maven though.

I see no evidence of a redial. Oh, and it looks like 137 is stamped on the movement itself! ;)

    Congratulations.

Thanks Tony & Larry. Heh, I spent so long looking at the dial, would you believe it I didn't notice the '137' til almost a hour later :whistling:. Sometimes our focus on dials makes me forget about the other things!

Is the movement though missing the thingy that regulates the watch? (sorry, not familiar with technical terms).

But some other cal 137s don't have it?::confused2::

Looks like it has a different regulating mechanism on your variation of the movement.

It's the little 5 pointed wheel with the + and - on it.

It's a lovely watch - simple and classic.

I have never seen that type of regulator but it could be a higher precision version of the one with the finger, also considering that your movement has a higher jewel count and gyromatic setting on the escape wheel so the movement is of a higher grade.

It has poising screws, but any reasonable quality movement of that era did have, before making weighting adjustments in the escape wheel itself became the norm, but I can't see any regulating provision ? It's a quality movement though, no doubt.

    I'd love one.

That's actually mine - wears really well at 37mm, and you can swap out the straps for different looks. It's currently for sale on the bay... happy to give an OF discount if we're keeping it in the family
