Hi all,

I’m new here (prob don’t have to tell you that!) I have a vintage sea master that I think is real but I can’t find the another one like it. I saw another post where the person linked to the vintage Omega archive but still couldn’t find. Anyone have any ideas on when this was made, what is original? maybe the face or the numerals were a replacement? These look painted. Back definitely appears to be a replacement. Haven’t tried taking it off yet (well actually I don’t know how 😀 Thanks in advance

From what I can tell, it is an early '70s cal. 10xx Seamaster. The line between the day and the date indicates it is not a cal. 750/752. It is a very cool Dial and the text looks good to me, but I may be wrong. There were a lot of dials, but this looks like an older style. The back may be a 'presentation back,' intended for engraving and may be original. I have never seen one like it as well.

Obviously there is no clear shot of the dial but it looks like a fantasy redial. Plenty on eBay.

better pictures needed.

As others have noted, it is a fantasy redial, likely out of India. While the base case and movement are probably from an authentic Omega, the dial has been repainted to look like the Railmasters, Seamaster 300s, etc. These were all over EBay about 15 years ago, many with quite colorful dials (green, red, blue, orange). Most were repainted Seamaster 30 watches from the 60s with manual wind movements.

I have to admit that the first “Omega” I owned was one of these because they were quite cheap back in the day and I liked the look. But I went in completely knowing exactly what I was buying. Hope you don’t pay too much for this one.
